Russ Greene has been the Organist and Choirmaster of St. Andrews Anglican Church (Woodhaven) for 25 years. Russ began his church music journey as a St. John’s Cathedral chorister 65 years ago. Mentored by Don Hadfield, he became Organist of St. Jude’s in 1960 and Choirmaster a year later at the age of fifteen. He has been a church musician in a variety of Winnipeg Anglican churches ever since, always managing to juggle priorities between music and his day job as a senior financial executive. Russ has travelled all over the world which gave him the unique opportunity to play dozens of pipe organs on five continents. With retirement, Russ is now able to devote his life completely to music, including serving as President of the Royal Canadian College of Organists – Winnipeg Centre for the last three years.
